FredC - I think your machining Skills would be wasted making a 1/6th scale Krag.

A better goal would be a 1/6th scale 1.65-inch Hotchkiss Mountain Gun.
You could crank out a few fully-functioning models, in .22 Long Rifle caliber.

The Hotchkiss mountain cannons are single-shots, so there would be no need to mess with a 1/2 capsule magazine.
Sales proceeds could help with your Defense Fund!

One last question on the 1/6 size model. Is that really wood on the stock or is it just painted die cast material. If wood I might buy one to look at.

We discussed the 1.65 mountain gun before. I did build the 2 inch version discussed in this thread: http://www.kragcollectorsassociation.co ... +cart#p697

I had forgotten its ability to cause rain. I need to drag it out and scare up some as we are in the middle of a heat wave plus drought. I will take up a collection for this service before as I think it is hard to collect after the fact.

On that fire truck behind the gun, I have a new overhead light. It has blue strobes beside the regular red and white. I GET RESPECT NOW. People see that blue flashing light and think law enforcement so many are pulling over and stopping. When it had the old rotating red lights not so much respect.
