I had a similar example. My wife was selling a sewing machine. Received a casher's check for way over what we were asking. I forget how much. The check was from a different state than what the envelope was mailed in. The shipping address was to a 3rd state. The check was beautiful! I took it to the bank, just to show it off. I new it was a scam. I just wanted to ask them how the scam worked.
