That is an outrage!. Sending ammo in a mailing bag! It's unheard of! It's ruined and not fit for shooting.
Here. Give it to me and I will ensure the safe disposition of it in a humane manner.

LOL!! They send it in boxes. It's in a bag because I picked it up at Midway.

Hopefully they’ll start selling brass soon too. I feel I’m getting kind of low…

I do not think you are getting low.

Buy it cheap (if you can), Stack it deep
Pass, brother. That's the second biggest pile of Krag brass and ammo I have seen since 2006.

I wish I could buy it cheap, I think that time has passed. Lol
I think I will neck die this stuff as it will be the one and only 30-40 gun I own and shoot. Should give me longer brass life.

You'll have to get with psteinmayer about the care of the brass. He is good that way.
I full length size my stuff and only push the shoulder a thousand or two. As minimal as I can get away with. But then I have multiple Krags
Remember all rimmed cartridges head space on the rim. Having just one chamber to worry over should not be too much of an issue.
And a reminder. The ammo and brass was not cheap back then. It just seems that way looking in the rear view mirror.

Buy it. Shoot it. Reload it. Price is ... high. No way around it. Price of not buying it when it is available is even higher ... rifle becomes merely a decorator, paper weight, etc. I've got a very pretty 1902. Once I get settled down from moving, will find a range and shoot my rifle, save the brass and reload it and shoot it some more! Sincerely. bruce.
Re: Hornady 30-40 at Midway right now!
$2.50 a round for factory loaded ammo is pretty steep. However, costs for reloading . 30-40 ammo has also significantly increased since the pre-Covid days 0f 2019. I am not an accountant, but my calculations indicate it now costs me $1.42 per round to reload .30-40 versus $.81 in 2019 when I acquired my model 1899 Krag carbine. During the 2021 - 2023 period I have replaced my inventory on each of the .30-40 reloading components, i.e., powder, brass, bullets, and primers. The price increases on those components have contributed to the 75% cost increase in per round reloaded.
Re: Hornady 30-40 at Midway right now!
Received an alert from Ammoseek while I was asleep today for 30-40 at 2.25 a round or $45 a box. All gone now, of course.
