Rough rider carbine?

The above carbine sold for $1450 + 21% buyers premium and tax. It was advertised as a rough rider carbine. There was no documentation to verify this. It did seem to have the correct carbine sight and looked to be in about nra good condition. I guess with some of the prices being asked for Krags shown in other posts this was not too far out of line. It was more than i could afford.

It's a carbine in the Rough Rider general range, as the item description says. But, for the unknowing, the way this is described is an old trick. "Might" be is convincing to a lot of people.

It is a nice old Krag carbine. Certainly expensive but probably close to full value as a nice Model 1896 Krag saddle ring carbine. Rear sight appears correct as a rare Model 1896 Krag carbine sight. That's a huge plus! Someone will enjoy it but no SRS documentation of actual use in Spanish American or other war.
