I am rather fond of Crows and Ravens. Experiments have shown Crows to have amazing 'facial recognition' and communication abilities.
A human that does mischief to one Crow, through a remarkable process, becomes identified by all Crows!
Even remote Crows, from different generations, will recognize, become agitated, and 'swoop' the person, who was seen harming a Crow.
(How do they know)?
The Lakota (Sioux) have a legend about a Great Race, between 'two legged' and 'four legged' creatures, that determined the dominance of the animal species, 'The Food Chain'.
Birds, like Man, have two legs, so the Raven was grouped with Man.
A Bison bull was on the verge of winning the Great Race around the Black Hills.
A crafty Raven hiding in the mane of the Bison, at the last moment, took flight and was first across the Finish-Line.
Mankind is forever in debt to the Raven for our place in the Food Chain!
