I never measured it. The copper strip was laying in a tub of odd hardware on my workbench.
By coincidence, the copper strip was the same thickness, as the slot, on the back of the sight-base.
The copper strip had adequate width & length to bend, locate a screw-hole, and shape the tip.

Re: Quick-Detachable "Peep"
Picked up my Redfield no drill peep sight out of the mailbox just now. It has the target micro-click adjustment knobs, the correct longer side plate screw, and a three-way adjustable aperture on the eye-piece. Nice one I think. Snapped a couple of pics for your viewing pleasure.

Very nice and a versatile sight-aperture disk.
You may have to use a smaller O.D. sight disk, in order to fully lower the elevation-slide, without interfering with the bolt-sleeve.

I'll have to check if it interferes with the bolt at it's lowest setting. It actually doesn't sit much lower than the lowest part on the arm. If it does interfere, I have smaller diameter apertures that are 6-way adjustable.

Re: Quick-Detachable "Peep"
For 'hunting' and quick applications, it is common to use 'No aperture' and just look through the threaded hole. It works!

Thanks for that info! It'll just be a range gun anyways.butlersrangers wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 8:48 pm For 'hunting' and quick applications, it is common to use 'No aperture' and just look through the threaded hole. It works!

Re: Quick-Detachable "Peep"
With a receiver sight on a Krag, it is not unusual to need a higher front sight blade.
This is because, the 'peep' sight may sit higher than the issue rear-sight.
If so, the bore will be angled 'upward', when aiming with the original front-blade.
A taller blade will bring the bore closer to level.

Re: Quick-Detachable "Peep"
I'm hoping I'll be ok as it has an aftermarket ramp style sight base with dovetail slot in it to change the height if I need to.
What is the height of a stock rifle Krag sight from the bottom of the base to the top of the blade?
