Tom - How is the 'clip-guide' retained on your Parkhurst carbine, screw or dovetail?
Is the magazine 'cartridge-lip' a standard one or distinctive, as shown in Mallory's photos?

I keep forgetting to take a look. Things have been crazy around here lately. lol I will try to remember and report back.

The tab on mine is not dovetailed. But, not a screw either, or if so, the head was ground. Can't see a slot. More like a rivet.

Re: Parkhurst carbine
Thanks Tom, your 'guide' for the Parkhurst 'clip' is anchored to the rear wall of the magazine with a screw, (possibly with a left-hand thread).
Your 'cartridge-lip' appears riveted to the bottom wall of the magazine, (which is how the regular Krag cartridge-lip is retained).
But, your cartridge-lip is a special shape, like the one pictured by Mallory, in "The KRS".

Re: Parkhurst carbine
Tom, do you know what purpose these two holes serve on the Parkhurst 'clip-guide'?
Manufacturing aids? Drain holes?

I would guess fixture holes to hold it while machine work is preformed.butlersrangers wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 12:13 am Tom, do you know what purpose these two holes serve on the Parkhurst 'clip-guide'?
