Not sure what you mean as to "isn't cut and still domed". 8183 would have originally had a 30" barrel with flat muzzle. When altered to M1896 the muzzle would have been crowned (rounded inside and out) but the "high point" remained at 30". OK, i was under the impression that a flat muzzle was a cut barrel, sorry, it’s crowned not domed, didn’t word it right and it’s not a bubbas garage piece, i posted pics on another thread.

Fritz- Nice to hear you have an older Krag.The altered ones from 1892 Models are nice Krags to own. There are certainly lots of variations of these.
