There are no hits for this rifle in SRS, although it is in the “known range” for the Rough Riders. All in all, I’m pretty happy to add it to my collection!

Model 1896 Carbine
I got to unbox my Model 1896 Carbine today, Serial 74978. Overall, it looks nice. The stock appears to be a replacement: no cartouche or Circle P acceptance. It has a “U” behind the trigger guard. I was happy to find the cleaning rods were all there!
