In Midway's current internet sales flyer, they list a sale on Hornady .30-40 Krag factory loaded ammo of $37.22 per 20 round box. The specific item is Hornady's 180 gr. RN Interlock cartridge. When I acquired my Krag a few years ago, I purchased 3 boxes of that round to determine if my rifle was an adequate shooter. The range tests went fine, so I then invested in dies, powder, and bullets and began reloading for my Krag model 1899.
I found the Hornady 180 gr factory loaded ammo to be consistent as measured by velocity and grouping at 75 yards. I am still using the 60 Hornady cases from those original rounds and have reloaded most of them at least 15 times. with no cracks in the brass. With freight and HAZMAT charges I expect the delivered cost of this ammo to be somewhere north of $55 per box. However, for reloaders who are getting low on their .30-40 brass, these factory leaded cartridges might be an efficient option to acquire new brass. And, the HAZMAT fee is the same for an order of 1 box or 5 boxes.

Re: .30-40 Krag Ammo Sale
This news is outrageous! How am I going to make robber baron profits on my $4.25 a box Krag ammo hidden in the tunnel complex? Orange Man Bad! Look at what he did to Wall Street.

This is great news for Krag shooters and even better news Midway has put Hornady brass on sale at $1.08 per piece, too.

Re: .30-40 Krag Ammo Sale
Polska, Thanks for the correction on factory-loaded bullets not requiring a Hazmat fee for mailing. It has been so long since I have bought factory ammo on-line that I forgot there was not A HAZMAT fee on them.
