Been measuring case capacities of once fired 30-40 brass. I consistently find that Remington cases will hold at least 1.5 more grains of water than Hornady cases. Wondering if others have noticed this, and if it's just a fluke of the particular lots of cases I have, or a known long-term trend.
I like the Remington cases better, but the only way of getting them is buying loaded ammo. At least Hornady actually sells unloaded 30-40 brass.

Re: Case Capacities - Hornady & Remington 30-40 brass
I have a preference for Remington and Winchester brass but only because I have an irrational bias against Hornady. Good company. I just cannot explain it.
All of my R-P brass came from loaded ammo. The Winchester brass came from factory ammo though I do have nine unopened bags of their krag brass.
I knew early on twenty five years ago I was not going to be caught with my pants down looking for .30-40 brass or ammo. The great thing about factory ammo is it can be used as a standard to compare your reloads. If you Krag shoots good with the 180s and is this side of crappy for your loads, well, you know where to start.
