I know this is a question that probably has no exact answer, but is there a powder that might be a good starter for a 150-165 grain bullet?...
Slow burners such as the 4350's or mid-range burners?...
Thanks...BCB

IMR-3031 and IMR-4895 give good results with 150 to 180 grain jacketed projectiles.

Back when I was loading 165s for my Krags, I used 4064 with great results. 4064 is a pretty universal powder! 4895 and 3031 are pretty good too as Chuck stated.

BCB,
I believe I was using IMR 4831 @ 44.0grs. , very light , but accurate in my 1898 Sporter...HTH
