WTS - ANTIQUE 1896 Krag rifle

WTS - Model 1896 Krag RIFLE. S/N 484XX. This is a pre-1899 gun and can be shipped directly to anyone who can legally receive it (except in those Communist states that don't allow it). Here is the deal. The gun is in what I believe is a 1899 carbine stock with a 1902 C-marked sight and handguard. I don't know who put it together this way - the possibilities are infinite. It makes a fine shooter this way (has killed 4 deer), but could also be stripped for parts/restoration. The barrel is UNCUT and the barreled action is 100% restorable if you have an 1896 rifle stock.

The gun is very nice overall. Blue is overall about 80%. There is a little bit of VERY light pitting scattered here and there, but it is VERY minor. The bore has very nice rifling, but has a hazy shine from MINOR pitting in places. Overall, a very nice bore, but not mirror bright. The handguard is in excellent condition. The stock would be save for a minor chip at the toe and two small holes where sling swivels were screwed in by the previous owner. The stock doesn't have any cartouches, except a "44" behind the triggerguard and I believe it to be unrefinished after leaving the arsenal for the last time, as the "44" is very crisp.

I would like to get what I have in this gun back out of it -$415 shipped in the CONUS to any adult over 18 who can legally receive it. I had originally thought of parting it out (based on ebay's prices, the parts are worth much more than my price), but I would rather keep it this way if I can. I need to free up the funds for some family expenses.

Please email me with any questions. I don't have picture capability at this time, but I am very good at grading and describing gun condition and you won't have any surprises. Thanks for looking!
