I served in the US Navy, as did both of my children. I served from 1980 to 1993, including Operation Desert Storm aboard the USS Ranger CV-61 (which we are desperately trying to save from scrapping... but that's another story).

Army and Army NG 27 years total, 82nd Abn Inf and Signal corps in many different units, Grenada, Desert Storm, in Europe when the wall came down.

USAF alongside the comedian Sinbad. Peace time, during the cold war, his jokes kept the Ruskies from attacking. For a short time I was a small arms instructor, least on paper. The wife didn't like the service life and I got out after one hitch. Should've kept the AF and lost the wife! ;)
