Hmmm .... I don't know your brother or his motivation. Maybe, he is counting on your reduced mobility.
He only has to be able to run faster than "Mr. Bait".

One of the reasons I'd rather hunt over bait instead of treeing bears with dogs. Must see video.

They pee, too!
Re: Bear Huntin Im'a Goin'
Four more days to go before the hunt. Getting everything ready and packed. Krag sighted in one more time. Will have a 5-1/2 hour trip to get there Tuesday. My boss told me he hopes I can run faster than my brother. I can't. The Krag will have to do.

Harvested a bear on 9/9 in the afternoon. Not a large bear by any means, but I was not a good judge at 25 yards as it seemed larger. Bear fever? One shot from the Krag sporter. Just got home this afternoon as my brother and I took time to visit family up North after hunting. Meat in the freezer, hide at the taxidermist for tanning. Now to relax before going to work.
Bear - Its whats for dinner. (Maybe tomorrow night.)

Congratulations! And a hide to remember the hunt.
Hope you get lots of good eating there.

Good hunting!
You must know how to cook bear meat properly to enjoy it so much. I tried cooking a bear steak years ago and it was so bad that even our pet beagle didn't eat it! It certainly isn't beef!
Enjoy.

Re: Bear Huntin Im'a Goin'
I have not cooked bear before. Lots of venison, but not bear. I know that bear has to be thoroughly cooked like pork. I am receptive to anybody's recipe. A sure fire method will be for my wife to slow cook in a crockpot adding vegetables as she has done venison roasts that way. It would have to be most tender this way.
