Manual of Courts Martial 1898 time frame

Post by Culpeper »

Any of you guys have a digital or otherwise copy of the MCM for the Spanish American War? I have a company of the 9th Battalion in the Ohio Roster that I see repeated references to being tried for the 32nd and 62nd A. W. and was wondering just what they were doing wrong.

That looks good Knute.

It appears in 1895, Article 32 dealt with being AWOL and Article 62 dealt with non-capitol crimes ranging from Manslaughter to Indecency.

The Google-fu in him strong it is.

Yep. That would be it. A few of the men were tried and found guilty (of course) two, three and a few four times for AWOL and more than a few for the 62nd article which could be complaining about conditions. They were at Camp Meade in Pennsylvania. I have read in a couple of places the place was a nightmare with disease running rampant.
