New CMP "junk grade" Krag

From CMP South Store a few weeks ago...

The stock was refinished (no stamps) but marked ok headspace and barrel. It cleaned up nice and I had to get a lower barrel band and rear swivel as those were missing.
Question: the "11" marked on the left side of the receiver, is that damage or is it a some kind of unit marking?
