Norwegian Krag M1912 Dated 1933!!???

Post by Vaughn99 »

I have been collection info on the Norwegian Krag M1912, M1894, M43 Nazi, M1914 and any wierd varients here and there but mainly the M1912. Now don't get to excited, in the last 7 years only seeing them here and there i barely have 30 observations in my whole database of ALL the models I mentioned, so its a pretty tiny database to say the least LOL LOL. I dont know if this has been talked about, but came across a rifle WAY out of its norm. It's a M1912 that was dated 1933 but M1912 stopped in 1926 or 1927!!!! I was told/read. this M1912 is only a 4 digit serial in the 9xxx range which would be 1915-1916 if a true 1933 it should be 5 digit 30,000 serial or higher for sure. The rifle is all matching but i thought in 1923/24 they got rid of the flat bolt handle and went to the round bolt handle like the M1894 KJ. This 1933 M1912 had a flat bolt handle that match's and has the correct font for serial numbers for a Kongberg rifle. The other anomaly is the whole 4 digit serial is present on the bolt handle when it suppose to have .xxx (last 3 digits of serial) they didn't do this here??? Let me know what I found if you could. this is not my rifle and i don't own it but looking for answers since I've came across it. As always i don't know much as i only own 1 rifle :( so any insight or corrections are more than welcome.

thanks
vaughn
