Hello:
I have a bolt in my 1898 gun that was braised (brazed?) toward the business end about 1/2" back. I've heard this was common on Krags. Is it safe to fire in this condition?
Thanks,
Chris
Krag bolt
Re: Krag bolt
Chris,
Do not fire your Krag in that condition, it is not worth the risk. Replacement bolt bodys are available. As for being common with Krags, it is not common with Krags around here. I have seen it once in 25+ years ona sporter I bought for parts. I would say that it is a sign of abbusive ammunition.
