Redone Krags

Post by tom_markert »

I was looking at a 1896 US Krag rifle. It was obvious it was reblued, but it was done very well as the stampings were very crisp and clear. The stock was also stripped to the point where the cartouches are just visible. I found out from the seller that the Krag was once a parade gun that had been chromed and the stock painted white. The rifle has the later style rear sight Has anyone ever seen Krags in that form and how would the reblueing and stock cleaning affect the value?
