Manila Depot - 1902

Post by butlersrangers »

FWIW - Here are a few pages from the "Annual Report of the War Department - for the Fiscal Year ending June, 30, 1902", that reported on the Depot in Manila.

During that period, the U. S. was fighting Insurgents in the Philippines. It is rather interesting to see the types of arms reported as captured or purchased from Filipinos. The reports from various shops at the Depot give some insight into the type of work and repairs that were done in Manila. ImageImageImage

Very interesting, Luger automatic pistols were put out for trials.

In 1907 Luger submitted .45 ACP pistols for testing along with Savage and Colt. Supposedly 1 or 2 remain in existence.

But, they are now being manufactured again using the US Army specification. Something like $6000 each.
