The Krag carbine front-sight hood/protector seems to run about $100 to $200, these days.

They show up on Ebay or you might check with one of the parts sellers in the KCA Forum classifieds.

I believe 'movieman630' is the grandson of the late Joe DeChristopher. He posts on Ebay and is selling the 'hoods' for $200. (Check his 'Store').

I have 03 & USMC sight protectors. What is the size difference between those and the Krag?

A 1903 sight protector will snap on to a Krag carbine barrel and provide sight protection. However, it is not shaped to nicely conform to the contours of the Krag front sight 'stud' and it also blocks the view of the 'blade'.
