1892 Extractor on Ebay

Post by Mark_Daiute »

So a bolt with an 1892 sleeve and extractor just went on Ebay for 62 bucks.

I hope it was one of us from the forum.

Anyone else see it? I just picked up an entire 1892 bolt assembly sans extractor on Ebay for something like 42.00, IIRC so I was really interested in the bolt with the extractor but. A) Money is tight and B) it went off at about 6:05 AM my time so it slipped by me. Meantime I have an 1898 extractor in that 1892 bolt. It's pretty and blue but a little stiff.

But did the bolt have the 92's full width guide rib? If you need a 92 sleeve and safety, I have one. I only have one 92 bolt that it'll fit, that's the parkerized Krag and the trigger isn't as good with the 92 sleeve and safety. Well, something didn't work as good or I just didn't like the way it looked. So it's surplus to my needs.

I need to be more precise. I'm looking for an 1892 extractor in 1896 format.

I'm not sure what your point is, Mark?

What exactly do you consider to be an *1892 extractor in 1896 format"?

the devil is in the details here and elsewhere and the land is fraught with as many landmines as a yard with free-range hens.

The bolt I got has the full guide rib and the 1892 sleeve with the the knurling on the end.

My 4-digit rifle came to me upgraded to the 1896 format and has the notch in the receiver for the pin on the extractor that holds back the bolt back when open.

I would like to find an extractor with the squared-off shoulder on the bottom at the aft end like an 1892 extractor but also having the pin to hold the bolt back. Just like the one in the photo from my Carbine. Is that an 1892 extractor?

Thanks all, I'll try to be more precise with my language in the future.
