SRS check

Post by madsenshooter »

Need to see if there's any SRS info available for a real nice receiver I got for next to nothing, 325491. I know it's in 98 carbine range, but of course don't know if it was once a carbine or rifle. Either way, I'll probably use it on a rifle. I have a 98 rifle that has been drilled and tapped for a Weaver mount, but otherwise is original. Might use the D&T'd receiver in a target stock and use 325491 to replace it. I should have had this project done years ago. The forearm I had made from European walnut goes on it. If there's any proof 325491 was once a carbine, plans might change, as I have a Boyd's carbine stock too!

I am sure #325,491 would have to be a model 1898 rifle. That # is not in range for 1898 carbines. Any carbine with that high a # would have to be a model 1899 carbine.

Yea, I don't know where I got the idea that was 98 carbine range. One of those days! Not a 99 either. A rifle it will become. I think that's the barrel with the star struck on it under the P.
