The good: all matching, full-length barrel, great bore.
The bad: parkerized barrel, re-blued trigger guard and loading gate, repair spring in the sight. A stock that I would not try to shoot. How it survived being cut down is a mystery, but I won't dwell on that too long. All in all, I am very happy...
All that is needed is a stock, all the hardware and a sling! ;D

As you say, it "only" need a stock with hardware. Can be obtained from Norway occationally, but now the stock have to bee cut to fit the freight "rules" of max lenght of 105cm. Other freight is so costfull that you will not find it affordable.

Here is the current state of the project, thanks to the kindness of the Krag Collectors Association....
Remaining items, repair the stock which is duffle-cut, but is very tight without the repar.
Find a cheap cleaning rod.
Find a cheap original sling. ( hey, I can dream! )
I will probably take it out for a test-run in the next few weeks and see if the stock holds up.
I am anxious to shoot it, but it is a little cold at the moment...
We'll see how it goes. I have some 6.5 I loaded for my Swedes that ranges from 1,500fps to around 2,200, which should be placid enough to start with.
I also have some lead loads that range from 1,000 to 1,400. I think I will try the jacketed rounds first.

I wouldn't worry about the parkerized barrel, I have a US 92/96 that all the metal was parkerized on! I figured it'd look the same in another 100yrs, even if someone who didn't take care of it got it, so I bought it with the intention of giving it to my grandson when I'm done playing with it.

A Fistfull of Dollars, and a Few Dollars More...
It is amazing what a little stupidity and a lot of money can accomplish. Here is, probably, the Final Result. Added a sling and a cleaning rod...Can we go shoot *now*???

Thanks, Ned. Tom really made the difference. I am really happy with the result. I am looking forward to some competition and basking in the jealousy... :)
