Classic Aftermarket

This Krag just sold on GunBroker, probably, for $150 too much.
It looks kind of nice with a good 're-blue' and a genuine 1899 carbine stock, that has been sanded and lost some detail.
IMHO - This is probably a classic Stokes-Kirk parts 'carbine', with an interesting marriage of parts:
barrel cut to 22" with sheet-metal aftermarket front-sight
1898 carbine rear-sight base with 1902 or 1903 rod bayonet sight 'top'
1899 carbine stock with 1896 carbine barrel-band
In reality, this is a useful and practical rifle, but, not a Springfield Armory 'collectible'.
I hope the buyer knows what it actually is and is content.
