And Why would they mill out where the Manufacturer is usually stamped? No barrel band, no top wood. I know absolutely nothing about Krag's, educate me please. Ser # 138604 I tried to post pic's but it would not allow me, too large. I will figure out how to reduce and try again.

Just some advice on the pictures, open it in windows paint. click the resize button and enter 50 in the two windows. That will resize it smaller.
