Strippers, I like strippers. Clip can be used elsewhere for sure. I changed it above, Watch how you load your strippers! A bit better. Nothing wrong with charger either. I like that much better for the Krag loading device. I still like the thought of spritzing the rounds in!

I have an old American Rifleman Reprint that is a collection of articles on Military Arms. (I have had this booklet, since my youth).

Included in the Reprint is an article on Clips & Chargers. The author explained (as noted by Parashooter) the difference between British and American terminology.

Like Parashooter, I prefer (and long ago internalized) the British terminology, which differentiates between "Chargers" and "Clips":

Chargers - hold cartridges together to charge the magazine and are discarded.

Clips - hold cartridges en-block, temporarily become part of the magazine, until empty and ejected.

(FWIW, the French called the three-shot and later five-shot cartridge "clips", that were inserted en-block into the Berthier magazine, a "Chargeur", since 1892.

In the U.S.A., the term "Clip" is applied to both devices.

Unfortunately, the term "Clip" often also gets applied to removable Magazines, such as used with the Lee-Enfield Rifle, Semi-Auto Pistols, and Sub-Machine Guns.

At least the cringe-worthy, to some, "Stripper Clip" is descriptive of its purpose!

i used to like like strippers and still do. i like the way they take.......(what do i mean?.........why strippers?........oh.....OHHHHHHH, that kind of strippers!!!!! ) i like "stripper clips" too. i am a Free American, not a British subject. so i'll use a stripper clip, thank you.
