Serial number ?
I have a 30/40 krag. It has what appears to be two serial numbers. One on bolt and one under rifle near trigger. I'm trying to figure out what exactly I have. Thanks

Your krag in this post isn't the Mosin Nagant in the other post is it?
The American Krags only had one serial number from the arsenals except for very early rifles that had matching numbers on loading gates and side plates. After a bit the government found that the good idea fairy had flew the coup and they came to their senses that it was a waste of time.
My 3140 has matching numbers but there has never been matching numbers on the krag bolts or trigger guards.
