Movable Krag Front Sight

Interesting. I never heard of a movable Krag front sight. This and other Krag items are for sale on the CMP forum.

Kerz - The "moveable" (removable) front-sight was the idea of Major Parker and was used in conjunction with the 'reduced' range .30 caliber Gallery Practice cartridges.

It corrected for the trajectory and short range use of these practice cartridges, by providing a 'taller' front-blade.

I don't have one, but, "Granpa's Gun Parts" sells them (rifle and one carbine). (S&S Firearms still has rifle version).

I noticed the carbine version on ebay, today. Likely, a pretty rare item.

These are too expensive to interest me, but, a good item to look for in 'junk boxes' at gun-shows.
