If I had an early carbine, like Dick Hosmer's with the two rod-section holes in the butt-trap, I would search diligently for the two heavier "carbine rod-sections" that are probably correct for that period of arm.
The heavier rods have to be rare and may easily pass unnoticed or unappreciated, by collectors.
