'Donki' - It appears your last targets show better groups, but, the targets were also shot at 50 meters.
(I believe your earlier Range session was shot at 100 meters).
You may want to try increasing your charge of N160 powder to 41 or 42 grains, and compare results.
Since you also have N140 powder, a starting charge of 36 grains of that propellant is worth trying.
(Parashooter's calculations indicate N140 may be a better choice for .30-40 loads).
You are showing good technique, using the same Point Of Aim and shooting 5 shot groups, before altering sights.
Your Krag rifle appears promising, with a nice bore, and a potential to group shots.
I don't think you have hit the optimal load with N160. I think you should try a stating load of N140.

Re: Vithavuori for the 30-40
When I have developed my normal 30-40 reloading, I will be interested in planing a reduced load.
Has a shooter ever used Vhitavuori N120 to make reduced loads?
(N120 should have nearly the same burning rate as IMR 4198.)
Regards

Re: Vithavuori for the 30-40
I have no experience what so ever with this powder. Before I would try it, look at loading data for 303s and see if there are any loads in the range you want to try. Some powders do well with reduced loads and some can cause detonation. Other ills could be misfire with a bullet lodged in the barrel. That could cause a catastrophic accident if it is not caught and another round is fired. There is one high performance pistol powder that I know of that the minimum safe loads and the max loads are very close together. Perhaps on other published loading data for N120 you could look for the range of minimum and maximum loads and get a clue if it is a tolerant powder. Parashooter may be able to help with this.

Re: Vithavuori for the 30-40
"QuickLOAD estimates - NOT LOAD DATA!"
Consisting of computer estimates for various parameters such as pressure and velocity generated by different charge weights of a given powder with a specified combination of cartridge, barrel, and bullet, it can help experienced handloaders develop effective loads for combinations not covered by reliable, pressure-tested load data. It's not appropriate for novices with limited load-development experience.

OK,
I can also use GRT, moreover this software is free.
I admit that I never used a reloading software.
Thank you

'Donki' - You are not alone. Most of us use published reloading data.
I have a poor understanding of QuickLoad Estimates and of reloading software.

Re: Vithavuori for the 30-40
Hi
After a long time where I couldn't go to the range with my K.J, it would seem that my last load looks promising.
5 shots at 50 meters.
As soon as possible, I will try again but at 100 meters.
Poor light this morning.
Regards

'donki1967' - That is a very promising group!
