Hello: I thought i would share this with the forum. It came with a reloading lot i picked up. It is 60 rounds of 30-40 Krag ammo in a bandoleer. It is sewn closed. It looks like it was put together in 1918. I wonder if it was made for use in WW1? I do not want to open it up, but i imagine the ammo is still good. Stay safe and healthy, KC

Yes, interesting. Noticed they were made by UMC. Maybe someone can tell you how the interior is configured so curiosity does not get to you and make you open it. With some of the recent posts about old primers and split necks I would not fire them. Certainly adds to a wall display.

10 to a pocket, cardboard separators - if like this FA 1907 example. Mostly split necks ("season cracking") back before they learned to apply final neck anneal.

Thanks for the photos. That will keep curiosity from getting the best of me. I think its interesting that with a world war going on and the 1903 springfield being the standard issue U.S. rifle the military was still ordering Krag ammo.

King Carp and Parashooter, thanks for posting pictures of your Krag bandoleers.

Very similar bandoleers were used by the British with the Lee-Enfield and by the U.S. with the M-1 Garand.

Does anyone know who originated the cloth bandoleer?
