The "Malcolm" scope looks to be positioned rather 'high', which probably solves Safety-Lever and cartridge ejection issues.
It would be interesting to see the Stock's cheek-piece or pad.
Sporter appears to be a model 1896 action with a discrete commercial barrel-band.
Nice pistol grip 'checkering'.

External adjusting scopes like that (modern or original Malcom, Lyman 5A & Targetspot series, Fecker, Unertl) slide forward with recoil. You pull them back into battery after each shot.

Actually, during recoil the rifle moves backward and the 'scope stays put. An old guy named Newton wrote a law about this stuff a few centuries back.

Anybody else notice the cartridge holder ?
