'Texas10' - The listing for the 'Peerless' stock appeared in the 1940 Stoeger catalog, (also in 1942). It may have appeared in even earlier catalogs.
Although the "Peerless' stock shows a lot of similarity to the model 1896 'sporter' stock in the original post, the 'sporter' has "high wood" on the left-side, which partially covers the magazine side-plate.
I don't think the Stoeger 'Peerless' stock is the one on the originally posted rifle. (The 'Peerless' appears to have the regular 'low wood' at the side-plate area).
