Re: Krag Rear Carbine Sights

This model 1902 carbine rear-sight sold on eBay years ago. I copied the photo, because it was an oddity.
The eye-piece and leaf of model 1902 rifle and model 1902 carbine sights are identical.
There was no need to specially mark the carbine eye-piece, like there was with the 1898 sight.
Technically, this sight should not exist.
The "C" on the left-side of the base is a known, but, unusual variant.
The "C" on the eye-piece should not be there, but, the letter looks correct to me.
Maybe the workman, who stamped bases on the 'wrong-side', stamped a few eye-pieces with a "C", out of habit?
(I wish I owned or had access to this oddity)!
