Krag Collectors Association Forum

Over on gun board forums for sale, 1898 Krag rifle price, $3000.00. I am not an expert but certain parts look refinished. Barrel band "u" looks sanded. Almost looks like it came from Mitchell's mausers. Nice looking stock though. Hope it comes with a cleaning rod.

I saw that and was equally stunned. He should ask $10,000. Just as likely to get that. It looks quite nice, overall, but not $3,000 worth! (Maybe it has an ounce of gold in the butt stock.)

I saw something similar a few months ago and posted a "reply" asking why the item (I forget what is was) was priced so high.

I was blackballed and shut down for a week for misuse of the forum and not following their quite restrictive rules. You cannot make any replies on a "For Sale" post not directly related to buying the posted item. I have been admonished three times and shut down for a week twice for similar things. I think the forum is owned by a Canadian. They can do what ever they want. Like Twitter and facebook and youtube with conservatives or anti-maskers or anti-vaccinators.

I was amazed as well. When I saw the text at first I thought it was a typo for 1892 but when viewing the pictures it was clear that it was a grossly over priced '98. Sellers are free to ask what they wish but a little reality should be involved!
