"American Rifleman" has an article in the November issue with this title on the Krag Jorgensen. FYI

It's a Bruce Canfield article with good detail on the Cataract scopes and the side-mount system utilized on the Krag.

Replicating the idea is kind of on my 'bucket list'. The project would require an 8X to 12X early type of rifle scope, approximately 24 to 25 inches long, with a generous eye-relief. I think a workable optic is the difficult part of the challenge.

Is it possible to read this report for free on the internet?

"click" on 'America's First Sniper Rifle' on cover photograph.

Attached is a Springfield Armory photograph of the Krag in the Museum's Collection, that is equipped with a Cataract Scope. The serial number of the 'SA rifle' is different than the rifle in the November, 2021, Rifleman Article.

If a person was to build one, the MVA scopes made for BP rifle enthusiasts might be a starting point. The mounts would be the challenge.
