'Cyten' posted this neat, 1929 period, Newspaper article on Gunboards. It documents the sale of U.S. Krag rifles to the Nicaraguan Government during the Sandinista Wars.

Previously, I have posted some photos on the KCA of Nicaraguan troops and militia men, who were loyal to the government and armed with Krag rifles.

Thanks 'Cyten'!

Didn't we have Marines down there about that time. It seems to me in the book about Red Mike Edison his unit was in that country around that period. Same for Chesty Puller. Those were two bad ass Marines .

Browning machine guns? And ammunition? Would those be WW1 surplus, .30-06 caliber? Or were they old potato diggers, caliber .30/40? 1924 seems a bit early for the Army to willingly part with nearly new 1917 or 1919 models.

Here's some pictures of U.S. Marines in Nicaragua and some Nicaraguans in the field, one shows a Vickers Machinegun.

Being the ammunition supply guy must have been interesting.
