I was wondering if anyone knew of a rifle slip ever being issued for the US Krag? An equivalent to the Garand one pictured. Maybe something from the Spanish American War?

Welcome to KCA.

The American Krags had Canvas breech covers and carbine scabbards but no full rifle "slips" that I know of.

I agree with "Whig". I am unaware of any type of official cloth 'gun-case' for US Krag rifles and carbines.

In addition to the cloth breech covers and carbine saddle-scabbards, that Whig mentioned, there was a brass muzzle-cover/front-sight protector, that was eventually developed for the Krag rifle.

Attached are copies of some 1897 Chief of Ordnance Report pages related to the breech covers.

1. The Krag muzzle-cap for rifle bore and front-sight protection.

2. The 3-section cleaning-rod and 'Cosmic Oil' bottle that fit into the Krag butt-trap.
