On another subject: I have an opportunity to purchase an 1898 Springfield Krag Rifle and an 1899 Krag Carbine. The lady who owns these, her husband who was the collector suddenly passed away and she what’s to sell them. Should I start another Thread or just post what I know here.
Thanks again for your help.
Regards!
Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to this. My friend Mike suggested we do a Chamber Casting with “Cerrosafe Casting Alloy” and the result is what you see in the picture. So the Barrel/Bullet measures out to be a .323” round. Now the question is where to purchase the Brass and Bullet. I’ve done a search and pretty much the only supplier I’ve found that is not “Out of Stock” is “Prvi Partizan”. Any other suggestions or opinions?Norwegian Krag M.48 Moose Rifle by Kongsberg

You will be best off posting questions about the U.S. model 1898 Krag rifle and model 1899 carbine, that you are considering, on a different thread that involves U.S. Krags.
IMO - Inquiries about 'U.S. stuff' will be kind of buried here.

Thanks BR!
Do you have an opinion on the Prvi Partizan 8x57mm Brass and Bullets?

I have used (PPU) - Prvi brass and bullets in other cartridges (6.5mm Arisaka, .303 British, and 8mm Lebel) and found their components to be excellent.

i'll give PPU brass a thumbs up. i use it in 8x57, 6.5x55 Swede, 7.65x53 Argentine and i used it to re-form a 7x57 and 9.3x57.
