The rifle is a Magazine Lee-Metford MK II* or Magazine Lee-Enfield Mk I, with 30 inch barrel.
With the rear sling-swivel placement, I believe it has Enfield rifling.
The photo lacks clarity to identify some minor differences between British rifle patterns.
Stock finger-grooves and a clearing-rod would make it a Metford.
The Soldier is likely a Royal Marine.

That looks like a still from the movie 55 Days at Peking, about the Boxer Rebellion and starring Chareton Heston. Lee Enfield mk 1s were used as props by the US troops in the movie.
