Just posted in the US Krag section also - working on the restoration of two 1898 Krag rifles.
The first rifle was sporterized and brought back by a previous owner to military configuration with an 1898 sight. The stock was mended with a new forend. Unfortunately the barrel is completely shot out — however, the metal is good. I’m fitting it to a new stock and hand guard and shipping off to CMP Custom Shop for a new barrel, blueing, and safety testing. Below are some pictures of it being fit to a new stock. I hope to have it sent off in February for the rest of the work.

The second rifle is just a complete receiver I just picked up off Gun Broker — it’s getting everything the same as the first:
