I shot out back behind a friends home at around 50 yards offhand — I left the sight down and mainly aimed at the dirt back stop and concentrated on observing the rifle. The next 10 or so rounds we aimed at steel plates — I had to aim about 10” under the plate to hit it. I plan on going to the rifle range tomorrow or Sunday.

Used Prvi Partizan ammo.

I went to the range today and shot 25 rounds at 100 yards:

Then I noticed a wood chip about the size of a dime was blowed off the stock behind that tang. Remember I’m new to inletting stocks…. My heart sank.

I carefully saved the chipped piece and when I returned home wood glued it back in place and wrapped with surgical tube. I then sanded — I lucked out, you can not really notice the chip. After talking with the stock maker, I learned my error with not removing wood behind the tang. I repaired the chip, cut back from the tang, and I am now in the process of staining the area again….

I learned a lot!

Yes, I agree. Another lesson learned to help inform the Krag rifles work.
