For a couple of days now, when I hit "submit" for a post, I get a lengthy "fatal error" message - yet, when I check, the post HAS gone through, and comes upon normally. Anyone else having this issue, or is it just me?

I also had it happen. When I went back and re-submitted, I had a duplicate post. I removed the 2nd one. Another adventure. Krags, Kragistas, & our internet-linked society are not an easy mix. Most of us are over the hill.

Happened to me too. More than likely phpbb needs an update or is being updated.

I have had the same experience. Scary, but, things seem to work OK.
