I sent Mark an email, informing him of the situation.

Mark quickly responded to my email and sent me three pictures. He was having some difficulty with the KCA site and posting images.

A scheduled meeting was putting him in a 'time bind', so he asked me to post the images on his behalf. (I've cropped and brightened them a bit).

It looks like Mark picked up a U.S. model 1892 Bolt at the gunshow. He put an 'arrow' to point out the square-shoulder of the early striker.
He stated the early extractor had been "switched-out" for a latter one (with the hold-open pin).

[FWIW - My opinion is that the Bolt, Striker, and Extractor-Screw are model 1892. I believe, the Bolt-Sleeve with 'ribs' is one of those 1892 sleeves, that Springfield Armory modified so that it used the stronger model 1896 Safety-Lever. They coupled the modified sleeves with the later 'hold-open' extractors].

Since the striker is early, maybe the mainspring is, too. 33v30, or the other way around.

I love examining and comparing these Krag bolts. There are so many changes made and it takes a good examination of Poyer's to see a lot of the differences in each part even with the first few hundred and thousands made. I'm not sure what Mark was needing but I took a part two of my early Krags and photographed a bunch of pictures of the bolts dis assembled part way. If more details are needed, please let me know. One of the early mainsprings has 33 or 34 turnings. My later ones have around 39 by my count. But, the very early ones had the square lug on the cocking piece, not the angled one like on Mark's. Poyer says that the square cut of the striker was done until serial number 24,000.

I took a bunch of pictures and really didn't organize them well but hopefully there's enough to see most details. The first group are from Krag SN: 1631. The lower group of pictures are from Krag SN: 6225. I think they are pretty much the same.
