Nothern lights?
Re: Nothern lights?
Whoops, duplicated. I used to be able to delete duplicates. Did I forget how or has something changed?

Beautiful!
Looks high up, I would assume that means they would be visible further south?

Re: Nothern lights?
I was wrong about the Lighthouse. It is the 'Mission Point Light', which is located squarely on the 45th Parallel, at the tip of the Mission Peninsula near Traverse City.
The photographer, Taylor Lipphardt, was facing directly South (!!!), when he took the shot about 5 days ago.
He has a video, consisting of time-lapse photos of the event, which can be viewed on 'youtube' by searching "Michigan Sky Media" and selecting their youtube site.
Thank you Taylor!
(I believe, the recent very active Sun 'Storms' have given Michigan 'dark sky' areas something to marvel about).

Yep, I think you found the tip (Polaris) of Ursa Minors tail!
My wife is part of an online group of folks who post wonderful northern lights pictures.
BTW: I think that church pic with the northern lights that you posted is beautiful!
