Re: ammo
I don't believe any company is currently producing .30-40 Krag.
Some factory ammo may be found by searching the internet, gunshops and gun shows. (Old inventory and expensive).
Some 'custom reloading' operations may offer it.
The best solution, currently, is to get a basic reloading set-up or get a reloader friend.
If you can't find any .30-40 Brass, .303 British Brass will make a good substitute.

Do not give up yet. Notice POHO just got a word from Remington they will be doing a run of 30/40 this year. Not sure if that is just loaded ammo or components, or maybe both.

Kab, have you found any ammo since October? I thought you had mentioned you found a small bit of it for your sporter.

Re: ammo
I saw a video on Remington. They are under new management and the intention is to produce Remington ammo and components to the same high quality as they always have... and here's the kicker - they intend on reviving ALL of the original ammo lines, including 30-40 Krag!!! I sure hope that happens soon
Re: ammo
In 2020 shortly after I acquired my 1899 carbine, I found some new Hornady 180 gr. SP ammo on the Internet, I think it was Midway. Bought 2, 20 round boxes. It was costly, circa $45. per box and that was pre-covid pricing. It cycled perfectly, fairly accurate at 75 yds., and I have reloaded of brass 5x without any neck cracks.
