No, my opinion would just be 'what I would pay' and that is irrelevant.
IMO - Prices and inflation have made things too goofy and unstable.
You have been looking for some time and the stars finally aligned. (I won't piss in your refreshment).
If you are happy, stay happy. You wanted a real Krag carbine and now you have one.
It's only money and you can always get more of that.

Prices people are paying for Model 1899 carbines varies dramatically based on condition, correctness and originality. Yours might sell for around $900-1,200. Again, prices are all over the place. Nicer carbines can sell for twice that. Since you have a carbine rear sight and the bore is good, the value is a little higher than some. Hope you can enjoy your carbine for what you bought it for!

J. Sumner Adams was the Springfield Armory Assistant Foreman inspector of Krag rifles. 1901 was the date of assembly or inspection, usually close to the date of manufacture. This could reasonably be the correct stock for your Krag carbine.
