Hard to id rifle
Just got a new addition today.... not sure the model year but it looks unissued!

Looks to be a U.S. model 1892 Krag, with a flat butt-plate and a long wrist stock.
Having a sling is a real plus! Is there a dated 'cartouche'?
The shadows make it difficult to tell whether it has a cleaning rod or not.
A serial number would allow others to check if it is listed in SRS data.
The finish is gorgeous! It is hard to believe this rifle escaped the 'rebuild-process'.

RickyG, your hands appear rather large. A medical check-up may be in order. It could be advanced Guliveritis?

I'll bet it has the sharpest, crispest rifling in the most beautiful bore ever! This is a real candidate for the earliest ever issued rifle in the Vintage Match at Camp Perry! I bet it's accuracy is un-real!!!

For years, I had one of these letter openers, until the 'pot-metal' blade broke.
I could never decide if the Japanese maker intended it to be a U.S. Krag or a Swiss Schmidt-Rubin bayonet?
It didn't really matter, since the U.S. Ordnance Department copied the Swiss bayonet model.

Nice looking rifle. But it does look a little unwieldy. I bet if you cut down the barrel and stock it would make a handy lightweight hunting rifle. (just kidding).

My partner liked it when we hunted.... he thought the Krag was his. This was him years ago when we were hunting Javelina.... thats my 1896 I used for stink pig.

First off, the model is beautiful.
A couple of questions:
1 Any of the parts move? Bolt? Loading gate? trigger?
2. Does the barrel have a smooth bore?
3. What is the length, so we know what scale it was built to?
4. Any clue who made it?
5. Will you send it to me so i can touch it? I promise to send it back in a timely fashion. Hmmm, probably maybe I would send it back.

If I was to build a working rifled model like that that would actually shoot some kind of off the shelf cartridge or custom miniature cartridge the model rifle would be sold by my estate for not less than $100,000. I am assuming you paid a lot less for it and it is not functioning.
